FujiFilm has discontinued this model and released Instax Mini 9 to market in early 2017. Price will be same. So it’s no use buying this camera. Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 is best cheapest instant camera among the latest models in market today. Only other camera which is cheaper than this model is Fuji Instax 210 camera and it’s pretty old camera and not anymore in production. This camera is the 4th Mini camera in Instax camera line. It’s very simple to use and smaller in size than Instax 210 and Mini 7s cameras. Probably lighter than all cameras in mini series.
Camera has new automatic exposure measurement so camera check everything and indicate you the best aperture setting with a flashing LED light so the user can choose the option given by camera or other preferred setting using the aperture adjusting dial. Instant Film for Mini 8
This camera uses Fujifilm Instax Mini film just like all other cameras in Mini series. Cost per photo is around $0.60 so it’s one of the best options you have in market if you are search for a instant film camera which use cheap film. Also Mini film is better quality than old Polaroid cameras. Old Polaroid film cost you around $5 per print or if you are going to buy Impossible project film then it cost you around $3-$4. Still it’s lot expensive than Fuji Instax Mini film.
Fujifilm sites says you can use 10 film packs with one set of AA batteries but they haven’t provide more details about it. This type of film is perfect if you plan to create a wedding reception guest book. Film is cheaper to use and camera is cheaper than most other cameras in market. Only other better option is Polaroid z340 instant digital camera which gives you bigger 3 x4 format photo prints. But the Z340 camera alone cost you around $250 which is the biggest downside.
Also Mini film comes in various colorful theme packs which is little bit more pricy but can be fun for kids. If you are buying the camera for a kid of plan use it on a kids birthday you can buy several packs of these color frame film. Kids will love them and it will makes the party loads of fun.
