Skymall Instant Mobile Printer is one of the few alternatives you have for Polaroid and Fujifilm printers in instant mobile market. Most of you probably haven’t even heard about this product or brand. If you check their Amazon sales pages you would see they have a small happy customer base already. Also this Skymall printer use a different printing technology and their own photo paper.
Their printing technology is called Dye Sublimation Printing Technology. Sample photos looks bright and sharp. Process looks different than an instant camera photo printing process. Both do it instant but Skymall process looks more like just a normal laser printer or Deskjet printer process.
Printing part is very easy. Just load the cartridge into Skymall Instant Mobile Printer, Get the Skymall printer app from Google Play or Applestore depending on your device, Wirelessly connect the device to Skymall printer and just select the image and send it. No complicated stuff here. Make sure you have NFC enabled to make it work automatically.

Skymall Instant Mobile Printer is in upper $xx price range. You can check Amazon sales page or above ad for current price. It’s not a bad price for this kind of mobile printer. little expensive than a cheap instant camera but cheaper than most instant mobile printers in market.
Skymall is just one brand name. This printer is available under several different brands names such as Pickit. All prices are nearly same. Probably it’s a Chinese product branded by different companies. Other popular instant mobile printers such as Polaroid ZIP and Fujifilm INSTAX SHARE SP-2 are expensive but photo paper prices are lot less than Skymall / Pickit Cartridge.
Single SkyMall cartridge has 10 photos. Each photo cost you less than a dollar but not cheap as Polaroid Zink Media photo paper or Fujifilm Instax Mini Film. Image size is 2.1 x 3.4 inches, means it’s similar to other mini film in market. One difference is these don’t have sticky backs. photo paper suppose to have a protection coating which will keep photos damage from sun light, dust, fingerprints etc.
Cartridges are not refillable. Once you done printing 10 images just use another cartridge. Might not find these in local camera stores yet but you can buy from online stores like Amazon. Image prints on whole photo paper. Each cartridge has only 10 prints so you will need to buy several when you shop for those. Can be found under few different names too.
Other instant mobile printers are not cheap as this one but in long term those are more economical. Polaroid Zink Media and Fujifilm Instax Film are lot cheaper and available in both online and real life shops.
Fujifilm Instax series has some nice instant photo cameras too. Fujifilm Instax Mini 70, Fujifilm Instax Mini 90, Instax 300 and Instax 210 are some of those. Also You can often find Instax Mini 8 for middle $xx. If you are a Hello Kitty fan then there is Fujifilm Instax Mini Hello Kitty camera. It’s also in upper $xx range.
